Sample outputs from Would You Rather

  • Would you rather lose all photos on your phone, or all messages?
  • Would you rather have unlimited Wi-Fi everywhere or unlimited free coffee?
  • Would you rather always be 10 minutes late, or 20 minutes early?
  • Would you rather sleep 4 hours a night and feel fine, or 12 hours a night and feel great?
  • Would you rather speak every language poorly, or one new language perfectly?
  • Would you rather have a dragon, or be a dragon?
  • Would you rather know how you die or when you die?
  • Would you rather be able to pause time for 30 seconds once a day, or rewind 30 seconds once a day?
  • Would you rather never use a phone again, or never use a computer again?
  • Would you rather have free flights for life or free food for life?
  • Would you rather always have to whisper, or always have to shout?

When to use Would You Rather

  • The 30-second window before phones come out at a house party.
  • Icebreaker for 4-8 people where you don't want the same person always suggesting.
  • Post-dinner-drinks when the group energy needs a nudge.

How the picker works

Would You Rather runs entirely in your browser — no servers, no accounts, no data sent anywhere. Each pick uses your browser's built-in cryptographic random-number generator (window.crypto.getRandomValues), which is uniformly distributed across the option pool.

The pool for this picker: 15 hand-picked options. Every option has an equal probability of being selected on any given pick (about 6.67% per option).

Picker-kind picks return a single random option from the pool. If you add your own options, they're weighted equally alongside the built-in set.

If you want a deliberately weighted pick (favouring some options over others), the picker isn't the right tool — try structuring the choice as a wheel with duplicated entries, or split into two picks (category first, then item within category).

About this category

Party games decisions collapse without a picker. "What shall we play?" from 6 people at 10pm is a stalemate.

Icebreakers, drinking games, dares, truth-or-dare prompts, group challenges — the category is built for the 30-second window before someone reaches for their phone.
