How it works
- Paste class names, hit Spin — wheel rotates 3-4 seconds and lands on a wedge.
- Use without-replacement mode for fair-across-lesson coverage.
- Sound on/off toggle for classroom vs school-event use.
- Bookmark URL to save your class list.
Why use this tool
- The visual spin gives the room a 4-second collective pause — every student watches.
- The "ceremony" of the spin makes the pick feel earned; students accept the result readily.
- Same fairness mechanic as a plain picker, with the added engagement of the visual.
- IWB-friendly — designed for projection in front of the class.
When to use it
- High-stakes-feeling picks (who answers a difficult question, who wins a reward).
- Class assembly moments — choose the next speaker, the next presenter.
- Termly trip choice — kids cast votes, the wheel picks among the top.
- Lining-up order — daily allocation without favouritism.
FAQ
How many names fit on the wheel?
Up to 24. Bigger classes will need to split into groups, or use the Random Student Picker which has no limit.
Does it remember the wheel?
Yes — saved in your browser, ready for next lesson.
Maximum wedges?
Up to ~15 names read clearly. Above that, switch to the plain picker (which paginates) or split your class into halves.
Can I weight the wheel?
Yes, with duplicate entries. Use cautiously — students notice when the same name keeps coming up.
